• Each plant can contain up to 250 compounds in its cells. All of these compounds form the totality of the plant. The extraction process is a key factor in preserving all the plant compounds. We have therefore selected the parts of the plant richest in compounds: the roots of Rhodiola rosea L. (Rhodiola rosea L.) to elaborate the Phytostandard® Rhodiole capsules food supplement.
• How are the rhodiola extracts for this Phytostandard® selected?
Rhodiola is a perennial plant, i.e. it lives for more than 2 years. It is also known as "Pink Spur" because of the subtle scent of rose given off by its freshly cut roots. It grows up to 4000 m above sea level and usually flowers in spring or summer. It has been used in various preparations in China for thousands of years. We harvest its roots after a minimum of 4 years so that they are sufficiently loaded with compounds. They are then frozen so that the compounds are preserved.
They are then crushed and extracted using the Phytostandard® process, which is recognised for its respect for the integrity of the plant's compounds. The rhodiola extract obtained is alcohol-free. It is then freeze-dried, i.e. cold dehydrated to be put into a plant capsule. The manufacturing process, from the Phytostandard® extraction to the capsule filling, is carried out in France, which allows product traceability from production to distribution.
